Tim Kaine

Gov. Tim Kaine of Virginia is giving the Democrat response to the State of the Union Address. He sounds and looks like a young salesman working his way through a presentation. He's like a bad infomercial. Totally unbelievable. I'm so disappointed.

The New Supreme Court

The thing is, I'm not worried about Alito being on the court, or the court's new far-right make up. It's easy to predict that the court is changed for decades. We overlook, though, how possible it is that a far-right Supreme Court justice can be replaced with a left-leaning justice sometime only a few years in the future.

It does make me more determined to see Democrats win control of Congress this year and control the White house in 2009 (or earlier).

State of the Union

Watching this State of the Union is like watching the Golden Globes instead of the Oscars. Everybody is just a little bit wacky.

District Weighing Boosts in Gay Rights

My instinct tells me that pushing for gay marriage in the District during an election year when the US congress is run by gay-hating republicans is political and social-rights suicide. Can we please wait until we've voted the homohobe-baiting currupt scumbags out of office?
